How to set up GoTo Connect in Volie

Link your dealership's GoTo phone system to Volie so Volie can receive GoTo calls and recordings. After setup, agents keep placing and taking calls in GoTo as usual—Volie does not replace GoTo as your dialer.

Before you start

To set up GoTo Connect in Volie, you need:

  • A Volie user who can open Account settings and edit the account (for example, Manager, Owner, or Super Admin with Edit Account access)

  • Volie support or your CSM to enable external telephony / GoTo for your account before you connect

  • A GoTo login that can sign in and approve Volie's access to your GoTo account

Definitions

These terms appear on the External Telephony tab when you set up GoTo Connect:

Term

Meaning

GoTo Connect

The connection between your GoTo phone system and your Volie account

External Telephony

The account settings tab where you connect or disconnect GoTo

Connect GoTo

Connected to GoTo

Volie has authorization and shows connection details on the External Telephony tab

Steps

Follow these steps to set up GoTo Connect in Volie:

  1. Confirm GoTo is enabled for your account. If the External Telephony tab is missing, or the page says GoTo is not enabled, contact Volie support or your CSM—connecting is not available until external telephony is turned on for the account.

  2. Open Account settings and select the External Telephony tab.

  3. On the GoTo Connect card, read the prompt: Connect your GoTo account to use external telephony with Volie.

  4. Select Connect GoTo. Volie sends you to GoTo's sign-in and approval screens.

  5. Sign in with a GoTo user who is allowed to authorize the connection for your dealership, then approve Volie's access.

  6. Return to Volie. On success, Volie shows GoTo connected successfully. On failure, Volie shows GoTo authorization failed—retry Connect GoTo or contact Volie support if it keeps failing.

  7. Confirm the GoTo Connect card shows Connected to GoTo and lists GoTo account, Connected by, and Connected at when those details are available.

What success looks like

When GoTo Connect setup is complete, the External Telephony tab shows Connected to GoTo with your GoTo account email and connection details. Volie is authorized to receive GoTo calls and recordings from that point forward. If you don't see Connected to GoTo, check that GoTo is enabled for the account, retry Connect GoTo, and confirm the GoTo login has permission to authorize the app.

Limitations

GoTo Connect has these verified limits:

  • Volie must enable external telephony / GoTo for your account before the External Telephony tab and Connect GoTo are available.

  • The External Telephony screen is for connecting and disconnecting only—it is not a dialer and does not manage GoTo phone settings inside Volie.

  • Disconnecting removes Volie's authorization and stops ingest of GoTo calls and recordings until someone connects GoTo again.

Common questions

Who can set up GoTo Connect in Volie?

A Volie user who can open Account settings and edit the account can start Connect GoTo. The person who completes GoTo approval must also sign in with a GoTo login allowed to authorize Volie for the dealership.

Why don't I see the External Telephony tab?

The external telephony capability may not be enabled for your Volie account yet. Contact Volie support or your CSM to enable GoTo / external telephony before connecting.

The page says GoTo is not enabled. What should I do?

Contact Volie support to enable external telephony for your account. The Connect GoTo button is not available until that step is complete.

Do agents make calls inside Volie after GoTo Connect is set up?

No. GoTo Connect authorizes Volie to receive GoTo calls and recordings. Agents continue placing and taking calls in GoTo.
