How do admins attach Slack destinations to Pulse alert rules?

Attach send-ready Slack destinations to Pulse alert rules so matching call assessments notify the right Slack channel or person.

Before you start

Before you use Slack Alerts with Pulse:

  • Slack Alerts setup must already be complete (workspace connected and at least one send-ready Slack destination)

  • An Admin role (or another role your account allows for Slack alert management and Pulse alert edits)

  • Access to Pulse → My Alerts (page title Pulse Alerts)

Steps

Follow these steps to use Slack Alerts with Pulse:

  1. Go to Pulse → My Alerts (page title Pulse Alerts). You can also open Pulse Alerts from Admin → Pulse → Pulse Alerts, which may open the newer Pulse alerts experience.

  2. Create a new Pulse alert, or open an existing Pulse alert to edit it.

  3. Set filters so only the right calls notify Slack (for example organization, campaign, flags, or escalated customers).

  4. If no filters are set, Volie warns that you will receive an alert for all Pulse assessments—add filters before you rely on the rule.

  5. Select the Slack destination(s) for that rule using the Slack destination control when it is available in your Pulse Alerts experience (`[Confirm label in UI]`—for example a Slack Notifications-style control).

  6. Save the Pulse alert rule.

  7. When a matching Pulse assessment occurs, open Slack to confirm the Volie alert message arrived in the expected channel or direct message.

Tips

When you use Slack Alerts with Pulse, these tips help:

  • For a shared manager channel, attach a sales-manager Slack channel destination to Pulse rules for escalated customers or key flags so the whole team sees the same alerts.

  • For quieter personal alerts, save a single Slack user as a destination and attach it to a narrow Pulse rule (for example one organization and escalated-only).

  • Slack alert messages are system-generated and may include a title (campaign name + “Alert,” or “Pulse Alert”), the organization name, why it matched, a call summary when available, details such as customer, disposition, agent, call time, opportunity status, and whether the customer was escalated, plus buttons such as View Pulse Assessment and/or View Call.

What success looks like

When Slack Alerts is working with Pulse, a matching Pulse assessment posts a Volie alert message to the selected Slack channel or direct message, with links back into Volie when available. If you don’t see a Slack message, confirm the rule’s filters match the call, the Slack destination is send-ready, the Volie Slack app can access private channels, and Slack Alerts is still enabled for the account.

Limitations

Slack Alerts has these verified limits when you use it with Pulse:

  • Classic Campaign Hot Alerts does not show a Slack destination picker — attach Slack destinations on Pulse alert rules instead.

  • You cannot edit Slack message wording as a template in Volie — message content is system-generated.

  • If the Slack connection, permissions, or destination readiness is uncertain, Volie does not send the Slack message — fix setup, then retest.

Common questions

Can one Pulse rule notify more than one Slack place?

Destinations are designed as channel and/or user targets that can be attached to Pulse rules. Confirm in your UI whether multiple Slack destinations can be selected on one rule (`[Confirm label in UI]`).

Why didn’t a Slack alert send?

A Slack alert usually does not send when the Pulse rule filters did not match, the destination is not send-ready, the Volie Slack app is missing from a private channel, or Slack Alerts is not enabled for the account. Check those items, then test again.

Where do I manage Pulse alert rules for Slack?

You manage Pulse alert rules for Slack Alerts from Pulse → My Alerts (page title Pulse Alerts), or from Admin → Pulse → Pulse Alerts.

Can agents set up Slack destinations?

Agents do not typically configure Slack Alerts. An Admin (or another role allowed for Slack alert management) sets up destinations and attaches them to Pulse rules; agents only receive alerts in Slack when a rule fires.
