How to set up Priority Groups
Configure Priority Groups so Volie dials your outbound phone campaigns in the order your team wants, and set how campaigns rotate within each group.
Before you start
To set up Priority Groups, you need:
An Admin, Manager, or Owner role
At least one active phone campaign (campaigns join a Priority Group based on the campaign’s priority number)
Definitions
These terms appear when you set up Priority Groups:
Term | Meaning |
Priority Group | A numbered bucket of active phone campaigns that share the same priority. Lower numbers are dialed before higher numbers (for example, group 1 before group 2). |
Campaign Rotation | The rule that decides when Volie moves to the next campaign in the group (for example, after a set number of attempts). |
Rotation Type | Whether the rotation number is a Fixed amount or a Percentage of customers in queue. |
Sub Priority | The order of campaigns inside a Priority Group when rotation is on. |
Steps
Follow these steps to set up Priority Groups:
Go to Management → Priority.
On the Priority Groups page, review the Priority Groups Summary (total phone campaigns, customers in queue, and projected time to empty all queues) and the list of Priority Groups.
Select the blue eye icon on the Priority Group you want to configure.
On the Priority Group page, select the gear icon next to Auto Rotation to open Rotation Settings.
Turn on All campaigns use same rotation settings? if every campaign in this Priority Group should share one rotation rule. Turn it off if each campaign will use its own rotation settings later.
If group-level rotation is on, choose a Campaign Rotation option (or No Rotation), then choose a Rotation Type and enter the Rotation Number.
Select Save.
What success looks like
When Priority Groups setup is complete, the Priority Group page shows your Auto Rotation summary in the toolbar, and campaigns in that group follow the rotation settings you saved. If you don’t see Priority under Management, confirm you are signed in with an Admin, Manager, or Owner role and refresh the page.
Limitations
Priority Groups have these verified limits:
Priority numbers must be positive whole numbers (no negatives or special characters). Groups are served in ascending order — lower numbers first.
The Priority Groups lists and counts focus on active phone campaigns. Other communication types are not what this page is organizing for dial order.
New groups are created when campaigns use a priority number; you configure rotation and order here rather than inventing empty groups from a separate create screen.
Common questions
Who can set up Priority Groups?
Admins, Managers, and Owners can open Management → Priority and update Priority Groups rotation settings.
What is the default campaign priority?
New campaigns commonly start at priority 10, so they appear in Priority Group 10 until you move them to another priority number.
Why can’t I save Rotation Settings?
You usually cannot save Rotation Settings in Priority Groups when a required Rotation Type or Rotation Number is missing or invalid. For Percentage of customers in queue, the rotation number must be from 1 to 100. For Fixed amount, the rotation number must be 1 or greater.
